In the June 27, 2012 article Rupert Murdoch Contemplating Splitting News Corp In Two Due To The Phone Hacking Scandal the Judiciary Report stated Murdoch was doing so, due to the current phone hacking scandal his company is embroiled in. One day later on June 28, 2012, the Telegraph in London quoted Murdoch as stating he is not splitting the company, due to the phone hacking scandal (News Corp split not driven by hacking scandal - Murdoch). He must think we're all idiots.

Mark my words, legally and socially speaking, it is not going to end well for Murdoch, regarding the criminality he is engaging in.
