Italy has extended its coronavirus (Covid-19) lockdown to April 13, 2020. The country is currently the epicenter of the virus, with over 12,000 people having died from coronavirus. It has pushed the Italian health system to breaking point. Over 45 doctors in Italy have died from coronavirus. Cuba has sent 150 doctors to Italy in a great humanitarian effort to assist the nation in treating the sick.

Italy has been on lockdown for the past 3-weeks in an effort to flatten the curve, regarding slowing down the spread of the virus. Though they have seen progress, authorities are not satisfied with how the outbreak continues to play out in their nation. As such, they’ve issued an extension of the national quarantine.
