Far Right Figure Laura Loomer Handcuffed Herself To The Office Door Of Twitter After Being Banned From The Social Networking Site

She Became The Top Trend On Twitter Last Night And Gave The Company And Herself A Lot Of Publicity In The Press Over The Drastic Stunt

Recently, far right figure Laura Loomer was banned from the social networking website Twitter. She did not take it well. Yesterday, Loomer turned up at Twitter’s office in New York and drastically chained herself to the door. Police were called and they tried to talk Loomer out of her course of action. However, for hours she resisted.

Loomer, who is Jewish, branded Twitter anti-Semitic for banning her from the site. She stated Twitter did not ban controversial Muslim leftist, Louis Farrakhan, who referred to Jewish people as “termites” but permanently removed her from the website. Twitter recently removed verification from Farrakhan’s account over the anti-Semitic statements he made. However, he has not been banned.

Loomer was being insulting and prejudiced regarding her comments about Muslims. Farrakhan was being insulting and prejudiced regarding his comments about Jews. I don't agree with either one of them stating such things, but it is their right covered by the Constitution. However, not by the Twitter Terms of Service.

I don’t think Twitter is anti-Semitic. There are a number of Jewish people on Twitter, some of whom are high profile. However, the site is left leaning and has been coming down on far right figures, in the fallout of the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Silicon Valley was shocked and upset that Donald Trump was elected president.

Bitter, two-time failed candidate, Hillary Clinton, blamed her loss on social networking, the Russian government and former FBI Director James Comey (and El Nino and El Chapo). However, Google rigged search results in her favor. Google also took alarming steps to hide the fact Trump was even a candidate in the election by not even listing him as such in the search. Twitter also gave Clinton's tweets and those supporting her, prominence on the site. The media also heavily promoted her and tried to destroy Trump. So, Clinton needs to stop complaining, as she was given many advantages over Trump.

Back to Loomer. She violated Twitter’s Terms of Service regarding harassment directed at a group or person due to their religion. That is a category in the terms of service. Loomer made inappropriate statements on Twitter about Muslim Uber and Lyft drivers, regarding the ride sharing services.

Loomer stated she was late to a press conference in New York, as she had trouble finding a car service that did not have a Muslim driver. That can be perceived as discriminatory and intolerant. She has also been banned from Uber and Lyft in light of her comments that she even directed at their Twitter accounts. Loomer also made comments directed at a newly elected Muslim congresswoman that was perceived as intolerant.

There are photos circulating online of Loomer posing at three events with people who have been characterized as white supremacists. As a result of the photos and her public statements made about Muslims, some on Twitter are labeling Loomer a white supremacist as well. People often see it as, "You are the company you keep."

Laura Loomer posted a banner of anti-Semitic Louis Farrakhan's prejudiced statements against Jews, complaining he has not been banned from Twitter and neither should she be for free speech.

Loomer ended her Twitter protest last night, not long after she was told Twitter would not press charges. When first pressed on the matter by police, Loomer stated she had no keys for the handcuffs that bound her to the door and was unable to free herself. Therefore, when she was ready police cut off the handcuffs, extricating Loomer from the door. And Twitter still has not reinstated her account. Therefore, the publicity stunt got her attention, but not her Twitter account back.
