Twitter States Computer Bug Targeted Pages Of News Media And Political Personalities Stripping Follow Counts

Someone is tampering with the backend of the social networking website Twitter for discriminatory purposes. Twitter is labeling it a “bug” but it bears all the signs of hacking and it occurred during the U.S. midterm elections. Anyone such as myself, who is politically active with many followers and or has a political site/blog, and tweeted lawful items the liberal left didn't like during or after the election, saw their account attacked with a strange "bug" that decreased follow counts.

It's ridiculous because at the end of the day, people with political sites already have a large audience from our sites. People search for us on Twitter because they know us from our sites. It's not the other way around. Tampering with our Twitter pages won't change the fact that many people know who we are from our sites.

They don't know us because of social networking. Therefore, all this foolishness needs to stop, because it's only causing bad publicity for Twitter when it is covered in mainstream news publications when something like this happens, such as the article excerpt below from the Washington Examiner. Ditto for Facebook, who lost millions of users from political meddling and associated discrimination. People's inability to accept the fact others are entitled to their own political views is damaging the financial value of social networking companies and in vain.

Conservatives, centrists and libertarians who are politically active are experiencing significant difficulties in using Twitter, due to strange "errors", "bugs", glitches deletions and freeze-ups. Conservatives, centrists and libertarians are being told people have been removed or banned from their accounts for terms of service violations, thus decreasing follow counts, but when you check your account, you are still following these allegedly banned people.

It is being done to create the illusion that people are un-following conservative, centrist and libertarian pages en masse. Meanwhile liberal pages are experiencing huge surges in their follow counts (that don't compute or follow a logical mathematical pattern) and have no "errors", "bugs", deletions, glitches and freeze-ups while using the site. I’ve been monitoring select pages of liberals, centrists and conservatives and have observe the discriminatory patterns that are occurring and it's coming from the backend of Twitter in what resembles hacks.

The people on the right are consistently being punished on Twitter for expressing lawful, non-offensive, conservative, centrists and or libertarian views, via follow counts being stripped and being subjected to the shadowbanning of their accounts (removing them from search results and "who to follow" features on the site).

I’ve tested it and saved the results regarding a number of conservative, centrists and libertarian tweets that do not appear in search results, even if you click the “latest” feature in the Twitter search key. However, people on the left are consistently being rewarded with prominent placement in search results and “who to follow” spots, as well as experiencing mysterious jumps in their follow count for expressing liberal views that align with the Democrats.

On the surface it doesn't look good. It looks politically discriminatory. It has the appearance of someone on the backend of Twitter engaging in psychological behavior modification via tampering with the pages of prominent conservatives, centrists and libertarians, or any page that reports news items the political liberal left do not like. That's not democratic behavior. It's very petty and maladjusted behavior.

I made snapshots of a conservative athlete’s page going from 700,000 plus followers to 0 in one night. Then by morning it was mysteriously restored after his team complained. Some loser hackers are playing with the backend of Twitter and it is not a good look. How pathetic can some human beings be.

I'm a conservative and my Twitter account is constantly malfunctioning. I will try to retweet items that are conservative, centrist or libertarian and will get the error message “tweet does not exist” or it will outright state “something has gone wrong” only for me to go directly to the page of the social networking user and see the tweet was never deleted and is still on their page. This happens to me everyday that I use Twitter. Tweets that I tweet are constantly being un-retweeted and not by me.

I think conservative, centrist and libertarian accounts of politically active people are being targeted with bad code and malware by hackers, designed to frustrate and hamper Twitter usage, to make people on said side of the aisle give up posting their opinions that are reaching many people on social networking.

What kind of people are that petty, pathetic, vindictive and insane that they are doing this. The U.S. Constitution guarantees free speech. Yet these arrogant losers are targeting people’s pages on a site that is supposed to be available to anyone who wishes to join. Once again, the whole thing is very discriminatory and a violation of the U.S. Constitution.

Twitter claims 'bug' led to major drop in followers for branded media accounts

November 09, 2018 01:20 PM - Several branded media accounts and celebrities took a major hit on Twitter this week. News organizations across the political spectrum lost swaths of accounts, according to data compiled by the third-party social media tracker CrowdTangle. The New York Times, for example, had a net loss of more than 180,000 followers. During the same time frame, Fox News lost 60,000. CNN lost 193,000.

More than 30 national news organizations and political blogs showed a net loss of followers this week, an abnormal trend. The drop in Twitter reach wasn’t contained to only media. Singer Katy Perry, who is followed by more than 100 million accounts, lost more than 3 million Twitter followers.

In recent months, a number of conservatives, including lawmakers, have alleged Twitter had been "shadow banning" them — limiting or blocking the visibility of their posts, which the company has denied. On Friday, a Twitter spokesman said follower counts may continue to change more regularly as part of the company’s ongoing work to proactively identify and challenge problematic accounts.

“As part of this work, we discovered a bug where some of these accounts were added back which led to misleading follower counts,” the company said in a statement. “We’re now working to ensure everyone’s follower counts are back to normal. This issue affected very few accounts.”

Facebook exodus: Nearly half of young users have deleted the app from their phone in the last year, says study
