There is heightened security around the inauguration of president-elect, Joe Biden, as there have been a number of threats from people to wage acts of violence over the heavily disputed results of the 2020 presidential election, which bore the signs of fraud and corruption. There exists online chatter from people seeking to disrupt and derail the event this week, in a bid to keep president Donald Trump in office.

As such, the U.S. Congress has brought out the National Guard and enlisted police officers from all over the country to assist with security for the inauguration of Biden and vice-president elect, Kamala Harris. There was a report today that security will be heavily vetted, as a number of officers and national guard members voted for president Trump.
