Twitter suspended Donald Trump who had 88 million followers and many other ways to get his message out to them

U.S. president Donald Trump has been banned from the social media websites Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, in the fall out of the January 6, 2021 riots at the capitol building, where members of Congress were present.

Though the president did not explicitly call for violence, he stated he would walk with his supporters to the building to take back the country. Democrats in Congress have stated it was a call to violence and are proceeding as such.

America is a country that prides itself on democracy and the benefits thereof such as free speech. However, it does not look good that under pressure from Democrats in Congress, led by house speaker Nancy Pelosi, the head of state has been effectively muzzled by Silicon Valley. There's nothing democratic about what the house speaker has done. Silicon Valley bowed to pressure lest she and others in the Democrat controlled Congress come after them as well.

I don't agree with many of the things Trump says and tweets, but there is nothing democratic about muzzling him on social networking. It is outrageous, authoritarian and undemocratic. It's an embarrassment on democracy to go to such extremes to shut someone up.

It sends a bad message regarding the lack of democracy in America. Meanwhile, leaders such as Pelosi hypocritically state it is being done to, "Save our democracy." Actually, what it has done is shown communist nations such as China and Iran that the version of democracy in America is fake, hypocritical and does not work. You've given the communist bloc evidence to state communism is better.

For the record, I do believe in democracy in its true form, as seen in Britain, Canada and the Caribbean. America has ceased to be a democracy for over a decade. Furthermore, what is this accomplishing muzzling the president, other than showing the world the hypocrisy in Congress, largely emanating from its leader, Pelosi, who had irrationally pushed for legislation demanding websites and blogs be forced to post contrasting views of articles authored and published.

Nancy Pelosi thinks the Twitter suspension will be the ending of the whole Trump era but it's just the beginning. She's turning him into a martyr to his many followers.

Trump being banned on social networking is further undeniable proof of what I have stated on this site for years, when I wrote that America is not a free country. America does not have free speech or free press.

I've seen it with my own two eyes under the Obama administration. They even approached me in public settings demanding I write what Obama wants on the Judiciary Report, which was out of order. They kept violating my privacy, and harassing and exploiting me in violation of my right to free speech and free press (Joe Biden Is A Power Hungry Criminal From The Obama Administration Following A Movie Script).

Former U.S. President Obama proved during his administration that America does not have free speech and free press, when the thin-skinned egomaniac went around social networking and Google Ad Sense getting people banned, who disagreed with his political policies.

Obama got people fired from TV and in the press for calling his wife, Michelle Obama, ugly or other negative names. Obama repeatedly destroyed the lives of people who engaged in free speech and free press, even members of the church, when these are supposed to be constitutional rights regarding freedom of expression.

Obama set the low bar for the destruction of these rights and Pelosi has taken the low road as well in getting Trump banned on social networking, which is crazy. He is the President of the United States.

You have embarrassed America and made yourselves look like totalitarian dictators who silence people that do not agree with you. That's something you'd find in a banana republic, which Congress hates being called. Pelosi has silenced the leader of the nation, of all people. Do you know how bad that looks in the world. This is so embarrassing, but Pelosi is either too drunk or crazy to see it (and as is well known in political circles she does love her booze).

Twitter permanently suspended Trump’s account on Friday, following outcry over a riot on Capitol Hill. LONDON — German Chancellor Angela Merkel blasted Twitter’s decision to ban U.S. President Donald Trump. “The right to freedom of opinion is of fundamental importance,” Steffen Seibert, Merkel’s chief spokesman, told reporters in Berlin on Monday, according to Reuters.

“Given that, the chancellor considers it problematic that the president’s accounts have been permanently suspended.” Seibert said that, while Twitter was right to flag Trump’s inaccurate tweets about the 2020 U.S. election, banning his account altogether was a step too far. He added that governments, not private companies, should decide on any limitations to freedom of speech...

Enraged Trump may lash out at big tech after Twitter ban but plans not final

Trump's suspension from Twitter in particular has enraged the President, who spent the weekend apoplectic about what he's determined is illegal censorship by the company.
