R Kelly Hit With New Criminal Charges For Paying Underage Girl $200 For Sex Acts

August 6. 2019

R Kelly in court

Things keep going from bad to worse for disgraced R&B singer R Kelly. He has been remanded into custody while two criminal trials against him proceed, for having sex with underage girls. First he was hit with criminal charges in his native Illinois for these serious sexual offenses. Then, the charges were expanded.

Next, the Federal government, who have more authority, additional prosecutorial and investigative tools, as well as more severe sentencing guidelines, hit Kelly with even more serious charges for having sex with underage girls. The Federal government split the indictment against Kelly between the U.S. states of Illinois and New York, where he had transported minors for illegal sexual purposes in violation of the law.

Kelly, who refused to stop consorting with minors, was thrown in jail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, pending trial. Even when he was detained in Illinois while trying to obtain bail money for non-payment of child support, the minute he was released Kelly headed to a McDonalds restaurant where he preyed on underage girls for decades, and took photos hugging minors once again (in violation of the judge‘s instructions to stay away from underage minors). His behavior has been flagrant.

This week Kelly was hit with even more criminal charges for paying an underage fan $200 for sex when she asked him for an autograph years ago. The victim turned over the autographed photo with his hotel telephone number on it, which is being used as evidence. The incident occurred in the U.S. state of Minnesota.

The 17-year-old girl stated R Kelly had her dance naked for him. He removed her clothes and his and the two engaged in sexual activity in his hotel room bed. The victim states there was no sexual penetration. However, the sexual activity she described to prosecutors in Minnesota constitutes sexual assault and statutory rape by R Kelly.

Kelly has raped girls as young as age 11. These allegations first came to light in Vibe magazine articles in the 1990s. Kelly at age 27 was even married to his 15-year-old protégé Aaliyah, in a secret marriage that occurred after R Kelly obtained a fake ID for the young girl he was sexually and physically abusing. Kelly feared Aaliyah had become pregnant, which was proof of the illegal sexual activity, prompting him to break the law all over again, in fraudulently wedding a minor.

Kelly also illegally transported Aaliyah across state lines, from Michigan to Illinois in violation of the Mann Act (among other places). Kelly also committed perjury at court in Illinois, in willfully misrepresenting Aaliyah’s age to a sitting judge, who would not have issued the marriage certificate had he known the truth.

It has been decades of criminal misconduct by Kelly and it’s high time he is brought to justice. He has repeatedly exhibited that he is a danger to underage girls. His victims have been left distressed and distraught. Some became suicidal and had to be admitted to the hospital. He harmed many young girls. These crimes cannot go unpunished.
