The Arrest Of Lawrence Taylor's Son On Charges Of Sex With A Minor Reveals The Apple Didn't Fall Far From The Tree

Arrest Indicative Of Some Celebrities Obsessions With Youth And The Danger It Poses To The Public

Lawrence Taylor Jr.

There's a saying that goes, "The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree" regarding kids behaving like their parents.. This week, 31-year-old Lawrence Taylor Jr., son of former NFL star Lawrence Taylor, was arrested in Georgia on charges of sex with a minor, much in the way his father was a couple years ago.

Taylor Sr., was arrested for having sex with a 16-year-old prostitute. Talyor Jr, much like Taylor Sr., was caught having sex with a 16-year-old. Taylor Jr. was charged with forcibly performing oral sex on a 16-year-old girl at a pool party. When police answered the 911 distress call and arrived at the pool party, they discovered Taylor Jr., had also engaged in sexual relations with another 16-year-old in 2012, who was also present at the location.

You see it often among certain celebrities - this obsession with age and youth. It sometimes leads to pedophilia, as they erase all boundaries in their minds and do the unthinkable to minors. Men and women who refuse to accept they are getting older, with their minds still stuck in their teenage years, act out in ways that are sometimes illegal.

Everyone else can see the person with said behaviors is no longer a teen, but in their mind they still are leading to them engaging in sex with minors and other lascivious behavior forbidden by law. Beware of any man or woman completely obsessed with youth. Aging is a normal apart of life. If you live, you will get older. This is natural. Being mentally stuck in one's teen years is not, especially when it leads to unlawful behavior.

Famous people's children often turn out worse than those of non-famous folks. Having too much of everything and little or no discipline to go with it is not a good thing. Hearing the word "yes" all the time in getting one's own way in everything leads to an unhealthy view of life. It leads some to believe others' rights are non-existent and one can do anything at other people's expense with no penalty.

You have to give your children boundaries in life. They need to hear the word "no" as it's not everything they want they should get. You can’t teach them by word and or example that they can do anything illegal as long as they get what they want. The "do as I say and not as I do" approach will backfire, as kids recognize hypocrisy and do not respect it.

Parents should teach their kids that sex with the wrong person is inappropriate and in certain cases illegal. No one is above the law. Clearly, Taylor Jr., inherited these sins from Taylor Sr. and despite his dad‘s high profile arrest, engaged in the same type of criminal conduct anyway. But that’s how it often works in that you lead by example, whether good or bad.
