People on social networking are accusing singer Beyonce and her husband, rapper Jay Z (Shawn Carter) of hiding their 8-year-old twins because they are mentally disabled. The claims were sparked by rapper and former collaborator, Kanye West, publicly referring to the twins as "ret***ed."

West even inappropriately joked on social networking that the twins have Down Syndrome. However, they do not have Down Syndrome, which has distinct markers the twins lack. West is very bitter over how badly Jay Z has treated him, but it should not result in attacks on two children. Direct your anger at foul, demonic Jay Z.

There does truly appear to be a mental disability present in the twins. People online are convinced the twin, Sir Carter, is more profoundly affected than his sister, Rumi Carter. Sir Carter has not made public appearances in years. Some are also convinced they are not fraternal twins. Some have also questioned if they are Beyonce's children, as they overwhelmingly look like Jay Z (and the comments on social networking have been cruel to the kids in this regard). However, all three of Beyonce and Jay Z's kids look like them, particularly Jay Z.

Something did go wrong with Beyonce's pregnancy regarding the twins. Beyonce and the twins were hospitalized for weeks after they were born. The twins had jaundice according to published reports. Babies with jaundice do end up mentally disabled in severe cases. Beyonce also stated one of the twin's heart had stopped "a few times" during pregnancy, which would mean oxygen deprivation and could quickly lead to mental disability within minutes. Beyonce also stated she had preeclampsia, which can lead to mental disability in children.
