Woman Raped And Murdered On Miami Beach In The
Latest Of Many Incidents Of Violence This Year (Videos)
March 23. 2021
24-year-old Christine Englehardt of Pennsylvania was
violently raped and killed on Miami Beach on March 18, 2021. Hotel
workers discovered her lifeless, partially dressed body. Hotel CCTV
footage reveals an inebriated Englehardt going up to her hotel room
with two men from Greensboro, North Carolina, who have now been
identified as 21-year-old Evoire Collier and 24-year-old Dorian
Taylor.
The victim was so intoxicated, one of the men was
seen holding her up against the wall in the CCTV footage. It is
believed they drugged her with a green pill, identified as the
powerful painkiller Percoset. After raping her repeatedly, the men
took her credit cards and mobile phone, then went to party at clubs
and restaurants on Miami Beach. The two men have been remanded into
custody, as they were denied bail in court.
I've been commenting on the social networking
website Twitter about the rise in violence in Miami. I first began
commenting on it in 2018. Not since the 1980s cocaine trafficking
related crime problems did the city experience such violence.
Ever since the mass shooting at Marjorie Stoneman
Douglas High School, a number of police officers were sent from
Miami to Parkland, Florida, which is about 40-minutes away. They
were sent to secure Parkland, a town that had not experienced such a
terrible act of violence before. This resulted in a rise in crime in
Miami, which includes areas such as Miami Beach, as less police were
patrolling the streets.
However, since the coronavirus pandemic, things have
gotten worse in Miami Beach, which is within Miami, regarding crime.
Due to the fact Miami, which is in the State of Florida, really had
no government restrictions for long periods of time during the
pandemic, except stores demanding patrons wear masks, which is
reasonable, people flocked to the state.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis invited the rest of
the country to come to Florida, as the state lost a significant
amount of tax revenues and tourism, which is greatly relies on,
during the coronavirus pandemic.
Then, when former U.S. president Donald Trump left
office, to return to his adopted hometown of Palm Beach, and his
house Mara-Lago, which is about an hour from Miami, others followed
suit and it has driven up house prices all over South Florida. The
same thing happened when former U.S. president Bill Clinton left the
White House and moved his personal office to Harlem in New York.
Property values sharply rose.
Both men confessed to the crime and are behind bards awaiting
arraignment in three weeks
2021 has been particularly difficult regarding crime
in Miami. People fleeing strict lockdowns in other U.S. states have
come to Florida and been cutting loose. The pandemic exerted a
serious mental toll on some, and they are on Miami Beach blowing off
steam. Some are being destructive, which has angered Miami Beach
officials.
All of this year there has been headline after
headline about deadly shootings, as well as stabbings and assaults
via fist fights on Miami Beach, which is a strip of land with many
buildings that is connected to the mainland that is Miami, via a
series of bridges. This level of crime is not normal for Miami
Beach.
This month is spring break, where college students
go on vacation, and it has made crime levels surge even more on
Miami Beach, and Miami by default. Visitors are fighting on the
streets and in businesses, in what constitutes serious cases of
assault and grievous bodily injury. People who are visiting from
other states are also damaging restaurants and bars.
90% of the visitors on Miami Beach are not social
distancing or wearing masks, which is a matter of concern for local
health officials. It should be a point of national concern, as the
same visitors will return to their home states and spread the
coronavirus they picked up on vacation.
