Josie Harris

40-year-old Josie Harris, who is the mother of three of boxer Floyd Mayweather's children, was found dead in her car on Monday night. The Los Angeles Police Department have opened an investigation into her death. Harris is the former fiancée of 43-year-old Mayweather and they parted on bad terms. She also filed a $20,000,000 lawsuit against the boxer.

Mayweather strung Harris along for 5-years during their engagement. Then, he dumped her for money seeking, aspiring model/actress, Shantel Jackson. Mayweather proposed to Jackson, then strung her along for 5-years as well. Jackson fled Mayweather's home with two cars, designer clothes and expensive purses, then never went back. She hooked up with rapper Nelly, who she continues to date.

Harris, much like Melissa Brim, the mother of Mayweather's first child, Iyanna Mayweather, accused him of domestic violence. Both women went to the police stating he beat them. However, Harris' case actually landed Mayweather in jail in 2010 for 2-months (Floyd Mayweather Charged With 8 Counts). Jackson also accused Mayweather of domestic violence.

Harris was never the same after a particular 2009 incident of domestic violence, where Mayweather flew into a rage accusing her of having sex with NBA basketball player, CJ Watson. Harris stated she was decorating the basketball star's home.

However, Mayweather did not believe Harris. He held her face down and began punching her in the back of her head, which could have killed her. One of Mayweather's sons, Koraun, heard the commotion in the house, went to ascertain what was transpiring and saw his dad beating up his mother.

The young boy ran to the guardhouse of the gated community they lived, frantically begging the guard to come and help his mother, who was under assault by Mayweather. The guard called police and went to the home to help Harris. Mayweather was arrested, indicted and convicted of domestic assault.

You have to be careful regarding a boxer who is a woman beater. How is a woman supposed to defend and protect herself against a man who is a trained fighter. Someone trained to inflict damage on another person in the ring, who is turning that rage on you, a woman, outside the sport. It's a dangerous situation to be in and one to be avoided. I'm not stating all boxers are domestic violence abusers. I am stating some are and it is terrible for women in those situations.

It's best to avoid those situations. However, the problems occurred for Harris, as Mayweather, as the father of her children, was entitled to visitation rights. It's easier to avoid an abusive man when you are single without any family attachments to him, regarding children, but when you share kids it's another story.

Harris stated regarding the lasting effects of being beaten by Mayweather, "For some reason I still get anxiety when I know that he is on his way (to collect his children). I have no idea why, but I get really overwhelmed when I know that I have to be around him."

In a 2014 USA Today interview, Mayweather's son Koraun called him a "coward" over the domestic violence incident. Harris stated in the interview that she was beaten by Mayweather on six different occasions, "I was a battered woman. I felt embarrassed about saying I was a battered woman. I felt shame. I felt like it was my fault. What did I do? I didn't understand what a battered woman was at that time."

The irony of it is Mayweather angrily beat Harris over another athlete, but she and Mayweather had already broken up. He was in no position to demand loyalty from her, especially with how promiscuously he has been behaving for the past 20-plus years.

Mayweather has over 10 women. He was cheating on Harris with many women while they were together, yet he became angry at her for decorating an athlete's home, accusing her of having a sexual relationship with someone else. For the record CJ Watson denied it.

Where gold digger Jackson did not love Mayweather, Harris did, which is why she took it all so badly. Due to the Mayweather incident, Harris gave up on men, began dating a woman (whose photo she posted) and doing drugs (there were photos of her high).

Harris was completely traumatized by Mayweather's conduct and never got over it. For years her social networking posts showed the despondency. She died with a broken heart, after a 15-year relationship and tumultuous 5-year engagement to Mayweather ended terribly.

Choices have consequences and can destroy lives.

Authorities do not suspect foul play and are treating the case like a death investigation, TMZ reports. Harris and Mayweather dated from 1995 to 2010. They shared three children. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department said in a statement on Wednesday: 'Homicide investigators have responded to the death of a woman.

'The incident was reported Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at approximately, 10pm, on the 25,700 block of Oak Meadow Drive, Valencia. 'The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. There is no additional information available at this time.' Harris claimed that she was abused by Mayweather on six different occasions....
