Millions of Americans are facing economic struggles
due to the coronavirus outbreak (Covid-19). During the lockdown
(March to June 2020), many businesses closed, never to reopen, as
the debts, obligations, cash on hand and other accounts receivable,
did not compute in maintaining a successful business model.
44,000,000 Americans filed for unemployment. Many
have not received their first check. News broadcasts revealed some
applied and were denied, even though they are eligible for
unemployment assistance. It's not free money. People paid
unemployment insurance for such reasons.
As the lockdown period is over, many payments for
rent, mortgages, credit cards, car notes and leases, student loans
are due again, but many Americans are out of work and without
unemployment payments, and can't pay their bills. There will be a
rise in evictions, foreclosures and repossessions in America. It
will translate into a rise in bankruptcies and homelessness.
Many Americans are getting free food and clothing
from charity organizations across the country who have stepped up to
help those in need. However, enough has been done by the government
to help the public in America. One stimulus check was issued in
3-months for $1,200, which can't even pay most people's mortgages or
rent.
Meanwhile other nations such as Canada, Britain and
France, among others, gave citizens generous monthly financial
assistance during the coronavirus outbreak on humanitarian grounds.
As stated previously, America is listed as the richest nation in the
world. More assistance should have been provided, as the
consequences of not doing so will mean horrible economic and social
decline numbers.
