The reality stars the Kardashians are a prime example of the dumbing down of society, in rewarding people for things that are not accomplishments. They became famous from a deliberately leaked sex tape made by Kim Kardashian and rapper Ray J. It was not honorable. To become famous for a sex tape is not a good thing. There is no achievement or talent in that. Veteran journalist Barbara Walters once stated to the Kardashians, "You are famous for being  famous. You don't really act. You don't sing. You don't dance. You don't have any - forgive me - any talent." Indeed.

It also gives impressionable audiences the misguided impression they do not have to work to achieve anything meaningful in life, just publicly do something that should be a private, intimate act between two people or go around ruining people's marriages and relationships, as see with groupies and Instagram models. Only the cream is supposed to rise to the top. It sets a high bar for others to follow and aim for in life. This creates innovation and societal advancements. Without it, you will witness a dumbing down and decrease it achievement in society. Be careful who you call role model.
