The coronavirus pandemic has made life in America chaotic. People are suffering from financial loss and mental health issues due to the virus. 44,000,000 people are on unemployment. Over half the restaurants in America have closed permanently, due to the financial damage stemming from a lockdown (March to June).

The U.S. economy has lost trillions of dollars and it has devastated the president, Donald Trump, who took pride in the economic gains he achieved in office. Trump's rivals in the Democratic party are also seeing their constituents sustain considerable financial damage, wiping away many years of progress.

Videos on social networking show select segments of the U.S. population in complete denial about the virus, in refusing to wear masks or engage in social distancing (the far right). They still believe the virus is a hoax and have pronounced the ongoing crisis over, which is a dangerous stance to take in the face of a deadly virus.

Others are taking the virus seriously, but it has still created a national sadness, social malaise and trauma, due to the fact the coronavirus has drastically changed the American way of life. It is not something America was ready for in any manner and many are not taking it well.
