Avenatti is the attorney for stripper and porn star, Stormy Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, who stated she had an extramarital affair with President Trump in 2006. They have been milking the story for all it's worth, accepting payments for interviews and aiding select Democrats in Congress to attack Trump in the press, with the hope of getting him impeached. However, adultery is not an impeachable offense. Avenatti wants to run for President of the United States in 2020, and against Trump no less, which is what this whole thing has been about from the start for him. During an interview this week, Avenatti stated of the forthcoming election, "I'm strongly considering it - it's going to have a lot to do with who enters the race." Avenatti has already been talking to people who worked on the failed presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton. They are hardly in a position to help him.
