Stephen Colbert Made A Mockery Of Congress September 27. 2010 Stephen Colbert in Congress And they wonder why Hollywood stars constantly go too far, never knowing when to quit, even engaging in criminal conduct such as DUI, drug use, theft, criminal copyright infringement (Kabbalah) and practicing pseudo-medicine without a license (Scientology). It is because they know Congress will back them up, no matter how insane their behavior. Case in point, last week, Steven Colbert took his odd brand of comedy to Congress, whilst speaking on a very serious issue, immigration, making a complete mockery of himself and the legislature. The jokes were unfunny, ill-timed and cringe-worthy. The entire episode wreaked of mental illness, yet there he was on TV, revealing how inappropriately enamored the legislature is with Hollywood, one of the most destructive entities in America, that has done more to erode society's social fiber than anyone. There are people in America who have been raped, abused, robbed and damaged by financial fraud in the corporate sector, whose testimonies would be more useful and appropriate, yet look who they brought in and what he misused the nation's time to state, in a very ineffective manner. Is there any wonder national confidence in Congress is at an all time low. But of course, the government will waste more tax dollars commissioning a study to ascertain why, when all they have to do is look in the mirror.
