Schools in Britain and America are making plans to reopen shortly. However, I do not think it is safe at this time. The students should be given May and the entire summer off, in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak that has shaken the world.

Students can continue to take online classes to keep up with coursework. They can receive educational assistance from school employees at government approved websites. It is the best way to keep them safe until medical science has a better handle on the coronavirus. 

The fact of the matter is preteens and teens can be absent-minded and sometimes careless (many of us were at those ages). Some will not have the presence of mind to practice proper hygiene and social distancing at all times, especially when they are around their friends at school. Therefore, it's best to keep them out of harm's way.

Saturday 2 May 2020 22:09 - Primary schools are set to reopen as soon as June 1 as part of Boris Johnson’s coronavirus lockdown exit strategy, The Sunday Telegraph reports. The Prime Minister is set to unveil the Government’s “roadmap” to get Britain back to work next week.

Meanwhile the Government has said social distancing measures will be eased in line with the rate of transmission or "R" number. Last week, it stood between 0.5 and one and this has reportedly given ministers optimism that they can reopen primary schools at the start of June...
