Public Pays Its Respects At Funeral To Police Brutality
Victim George Floyd (Video)June 8. 2020
As protests continue around the world regarding the
death of 46-year-old George Floyd, who was killed in a brazen and
cruel act of police brutality, committed by four police officers in
Minneapolis, his touching funeral and memorials have been taking
place in America.
Many people came out to pay their respects to the
man whose death sparked a movement for change in America, regarding
the deplorable way black people are treated by a number of police
officers. The movement is also promoting the concept of racial
equality, which is long overdue in America. All it takes is kindness
and for people to act fairly in how they treat others. Give everyone
the same opportunities on a level playing field.
George Floyd
While some have chosen to callously dig into Floyd’s
past in trying to degrade him in death, even though it has no
bearing on the fact he was killed in an unprovoked, evil act by a
racist police officer, people need to process and accept the
magnitude of what his untimely and regrettable death has brought
about in the present - the loudest conversation America and the
world has ever had about racism.
Floyd’s death is sparking change. It is shaking up
the system. It is causing people to examine their own actions
regarding race. It is causing people to look at their prejudices.
It’s causing the public to peacefully fight for the rights of
minorities, with the goal of all being treated equally. At the end
of the day, that is what we ask for in life. To be treated fairly.
