Prime Minister Theresa May Laying Off 20,000 Police Officers To Trim The National Budget Has Damaged Britain In A Case Of False Economy

The Police Budget Cuts Have Created Problems That Have Tentacles Which Have Attached Themselves To Other Areas Of Life In Britain (Social Order, Tourism, Investments, The NHS)

The knife problem in London is getting out of control. As stated on the site in past articles, Prime Minister Theresa May cut the police budget, firing 8,000 officers under her extreme austerity plans that is killing Britons left, right and center in various ways (and I did warn against it in 2015 before she made the cuts in 2016).

A new report revealed May actually laid off 20,000 police officers, not 8,000 as she previously stated she would do. It is one of the most ill-advised decisions I have ever seen a politician make. Gun and knife crime have surged due to May's terrible decision. The police layoffs are very serious and it is damaging Britain in a number of ways. The worst is innocent people are losing their lives. 

The knife crime stories are also scaring tourists. Even Meghan Markle's nephew was so scared based on what he had read in the international news, he brought a knife with him when he went out to a London club, during a visit at the time of the royal wedding this summer (and was briefly detained by police for it). Britain must protect its tourism. The nation cannot have this image. This must be corrected (via cleaning up the crime problem).

I know Britain quite well (and I do have British blood in me and family who've lived there for well over 40-years). Most Britons are law abiding, decent people. However, a small percentage of people who are in gangs are wreaking havoc in causing the crime rate to surge, due to the fact there are thousands less police on the streets.

Britain is a great country with many beautiful buildings. London is the capital and center of wealth. London contains trillions in wealth and property (which due to said wealth makes it a target of certain criminals). How Theresa May thought it was wise to fire thousands of police officers is beyond me. No nation is a self-driving car. Nations need the proper leadership to steer it in the right direction.

London (and Britain on the whole) was very safe up until 2016 when the budget cuts were made by May, as there were police everywhere. Safe streets meant more tourism and business investments, as people can move about without fear for their safety. May’s drastic budget cuts has changed all of that. There is now an air of fear in London, due to knife crime steadily rising since the police budget cuts.

If May doesn’t restore the police budget, enabling them to rehire thousands of officers she dismissed, engaging them again to protect the city, she should be voted out as soon as possible. The Labour party should push for an election as soon as is permissible and get her out of there, as her cabinet is co-signing this extreme austerity that is killing people. We're not even talking about people making a bit less money due to May's budget cuts. Thousands of people are literally dying because of them.

Last week, I read about a knife fight in London perpetrated by 16-year-old gang members that left four other underage boys injured. One boy was actually disemboweled with his intestines on the ground. He must have been in such pain and terror. People heard him screaming for help, only to go outside and see kids with stab wounds writhing on the ground.

London cannot continue like this. The discarded police jobs need to be restored and they need to be paid a reasonable wage, so they don’t have to get second jobs to make ends meet. The balance needs to be restored to 2015 levels. May needs to stop playing around with the budget, acting like it’s a social experiment. These are real lives she is playing with. These are real lives being lost. Theresa May what have you done! This is an unequivocal failure. An unmitigated disaster. Own it and fix it now.

London used to be so safe. I’d be out at 12:30AM and never felt afraid or concerned for my safety, as no one bothered me. People were able to safely go out about their business. And it was because of the heavy police presence in the city. For May to have fired all those police officers was to give the green light to gang members that they have free reign in the city.

As a woman, May is making us look incapable of properly addressing social disorder and crime. If I was running a country I wouldn’t stand for that lawless behavior, as it costs innocent men, women and children their lives. I don't believe in playing with people. There would be surprise raids left right and center and at the most ungodly hours imaginable to catch people off guard and obtain as much evidence as possible against criminals.

You decide you want to be a criminal in harming others, you will be roused out of your deep sleep with police or military personnel pointing guns at you, whilst announcing the end of your freedom and the seizure of everything you own, to pay for your crimes against society that caused bloodshed. May needs to stop playing around with these criminals and put them in prison, as they are doing real damage in London.

Look how many decent kids in London work at fast food restaurants to earn a wage while living with their parents and some are even going to school at the same time. It’s the ones who think they are Scarface that are wreaking havoc. Those teens need to be brought in under a juvenile offender system to rehabilitate them while getting them off the streets. The adult gang members need to be brought in as well.

The thing is the problem is not so out of hand that it would be a horrendous juggernaut of a problem to fix. Britain has the money to fix the problem. Use it. Stop with the excessive budget cuts. What good are all these budget cuts with so many people dead because of it.

Budget cuts to the National Health Service (NHS) and benefits for the poor and disabled, have gone to such terrible extremes, it resulted in 28,000 more people than usual dying in Britain during the first half of the year. Thousands have also died from knife and gun crime since the cuts began two and a half years ago.

The NHS has (and continues to) spend millions more pounds than usual to treat knife crime victims, due to the surge in gang violence, because of less police on the streets thanks to May's budget cuts (I've watched ITV interviews featuring doctors speaking about the problem and the strain it is putting on the healthcare system).

May's budget cuts have created a domino effect of disaster. The ends do not justify the means. Change course now. Bring back the cops. It will stabilize the crime problem, increase tourism and investment by allaying fears, lessen the financial burden on the NHS and most importantly save lives.
