Multiple U.S. Government Entities Sign Anti-Police
Brutality Laws And Ordinances (Videos)June 18. 2020
Many developments have occurred in the wake of
protests that have been occurring, due to the police brutality based
murders of African-American men George Floyd and Rayshard Brooks.
It has brought the issue of racism to the forefront of America and
the world. People are rightly demanding change.
This week, U.S. president Donald Trump signed an executive order
addressing police brutality. Atlanta, Georgia mayor, Keisha Lance
Bottoms, signed local legislation this week, aimed at addressing
police brutality within in her city. The city of Minneapolis,
Minnesota has banned the use of chokeholds. Democrats and
Republicans in Congress are also working on their own bills
regarding police brutality.
Murder victim George Floyd
Though, George Floyd was laid to rest, the dream of
equality was not and is still alive, along with his memory. Racist statues have been brought down, laws
enacted for positive change while others were changed, murder cases
reopened and new ones filed. The protests have made a difference. It
was not in vain.
Side Bar: As I've written for 5-YEARS,
legislation needs to be put in place to stop police brutality (Congress Needs To Enact Legislative Guidelines Regarding Police
Brutality).
