FBI Voted Worst At FOIA

March 13. 2009

FBI Director Fuehrer Mueller

The FBI has won an embarrassing, disgraceful, dubious distinction, "The National Security Archive at Georgetown University today announced that the Federal Bureau of Investigation won its annual award for worst Freedom of Information Act performance by a federal agency." It revealed they turn down 66% of FOIA requests, defeating the purpose of the legislation on government transparency and forthrightness.

The public clearly now knows the FBI is lying regarding Freedom Of Information Act files. As I've stated previously, the FBI will hide files, deliberately put them under misspelled names and move them out of the office when certain requests come in, under the Freedom Of Information Act.

I know the experiences I've had with them and they have flat out refused to send me files on myself that they are keeping, some in criminal violation of the law (illegal wiretaps, CIPAV hackings and email snooping, a story I broke first in 2006, regarding Patriot Act Abuses, when I found out what they were doing, that was later confirmed by the Department Of Justice's Inspector General Glenn Fine).

First they stated in writing there is no file on me. Then, when I appealed, they stated there is a file on me and sent me 4 pages from it, keeping the rest that is the equivalent of War And Peace in volume. Then, when I appealed their decision regarding the partial file, they refused to send me the rest of said file, in wording that showed there is more to the file.

The FBI previously sent me a Victim Of Crime letter. They did so weeks after I moved to a house I was leasing. Amazingly, the letter had my new address on it, where I was living in a newly leased home, that is not in my name. I didn't even update my information yet to reflect the move and new address, yet the FBI knew it. All my info was private, yet the FBI knew the new unlisted address not under my name. They were and still are watching me. They come up in this website's stats as visitors all the time.

It wasn't a forwarded letter either, where the post office redirects mail with a yellow label on it, indicating the new address. The FBI agent that sent the letter typed my new address at the top under my name, which was deliberately misspelled as "Alisha Goodison" - adding an "L" to my first name "Aisha" which is where they have the real file on me.

Therefore, when I send in a FOIA request under the correct spelling of my name "Aisha Goodison" I receive an innocuous document, due to the FBI's deliberate misspelling to hide the real file "Alisha Goodison." They will lie their butts off, making you want to check your own birth certificate to see if you have been spelling your name wrong your whole life.

The first agent that interviewed me in Miami, FBI Agent J. Christopher Kaczynski, spelled my name correctly, but an innocuous file I received from the FBI under FOIA accidentally showed there are two files, with alternate numbers, corroborating the Victim Of Crime letter sent by FBI Agent Lisa Smith, that my name is deliberately misspelled, as mentioned above, in the file the FBI refuses to release.

I even have a letter from an FBI lawyer stating "we are not keeping a file on you" then shortly after, I received a FOIA document that showed they had been all along, under an alternate spelling of my name they chose (adding an L to "Aisha" making it "Alisha").

But keep it up, when all the evidence comes out online and certain revelations are made, the public will liken you to Hitler, when they find out the truth regarding what you've done, Mueller. I did it before regarding outing you on the Patriot Act Abuses and I will do it again regarding your other terrible misconduct that is heinously and exponentially worse.

FBI Has Government’s Worst FOIA Performance

By Daphne Eviatar 3/13/09 10:47 AM - The National Security Archive at Georgetown University today announced that the Federal Bureau of Investigation won its annual award for worst Freedom of Information Act performance by a federal agency. The FBI has apparently been unable to find records in response to two-thirds of the FOIA requests it’s received over the past four years. Other agencies can’t find records on average only 13 percent of the time.

“The FBI knowingly uses a search process that doesn’t find relevant records,” said Archive Director Tom Blanton, in a statement today. “Not only does this woeful performance lead to unnecessary litigation, but the Bureau apparently uses the same searches in its criminal investigations as well.”

Here’s more on the FBI’s dismal FOIA performance from the National Security Archive.

Worst Freedom of Information Award Goes to...the FBI

Friday, March 13, 2009 - Each year, the National Security Archive at George Washington University gives its Rosemary Award to the branch of government that is least responsive to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. This year’s award goes to the FBI. During the past four years, the FBI has failed to provide requested records 66% of the time. The rest of the U.S. government averaged 13%. In addition, the FBI average response time for complex FOIA requests is 374 days, despite the fact that the law mandates a response within 20 days...
