The Pasco County Sheriff's Office and state attorney
Bryan Sarabia in Tampa, Florida have decided not to press criminal
charges against Hollywood actress, Stacey Dash, regarding a domestic
violence incident that occurred last month. Dash called police after
an argument with her husband of 17-months, attorney Jeffrey Marty,
and his three teenage children, spiraled out of control.
Jeffrey Marty
Dash informed police that her 15-year-old
stepdaughter "got in her face" during the heated argument, prompting
her to push the teenager, which she should not have done. Dash's
husband then put the actress in a chokehold. She telephoned police,
but they arrested her, instead of him. Police state he had visible
scratches on his arms. However, she scratched his arms when he was
choking her, in attempting to get free.

Dash's husband informed police that he did not wish
to press charges. Shortly after, police dropped the case. Dash spoke
out about the case recently in stating, "Like normal married couples
my husband and I had a marital dispute that escalated. Thank you for
your support and love. Please give him the same." Sorry Stacey, a
man choking you out is not a normal "marital dispute." That's
aggravated assault. That's a felony. That's domestic violence.
That's not a healthy marriage. Your husband should have been
arrested. You are in danger in said environment.
