Derrin Crawford

23-year-old black British flight attendant, Derrin Crawford, who is from Liverpool, has been thrown in the al-Barsha prison in Dubai after a raid occurred on the apartment of her date on June 21, 2020. Crawford, who works for Emirates airlines and moved to Dubai, agreed to go on a first date with a British man she had met. Crawford went to his apartment for the date. However, it was raided by police in Dubai.

Crawford and her date were arrested over two marijuana joints found in the apartment. Crawford's family states the police in Dubai informed her that if she passed a drug test she would be released. Crawford took the drug tests, passed them, but was not released.

A petition has been initiated with the goal of freeing Crawford (https://www.change.org). The petition states, "She was arrested on June 21st in Dubai after her first date with a British Man. She went back to his apartment that police went onto raid. They had found the man had 2 Cannabis joints. Just because of this she was arrested and made to do drug tests."

The petition also states, "Officers agreed to let her go if the tests had proved negative. Indeed, the tests were negative & clear showing Derrin had no drugs in her system. Yet, she is still being detained in handcuffs in Al Barsha Jail. These tests were proved negative & clear on Thursday 2nd July."

As stated for years on this site, people from the west are taking a serious risk going to Dubai. So many tourists and foreign employees have been arrested for having sex outside of marriage, kissing in public, drinking alcohol, taking painkillers prescribed by licensed doctors and for consuming drugs such as marijuana. It's a completely different lifestyle from the west and the two are incompatible.

Derrin Crawford, 23, who works for Emirates airlines and lives in the United Arab Emirates, had been out for dinner on a first date with a man when she agreed to go back to his apartment. But his home was raided by police where they found two cannabis joints and arrested the pair on June 21, according to Derrin’s sister Danielle.

The air hostess, originally from Liverpool, is understood to have been held at a police station for several days before she was transferred to the al-Barsha prison, where inmates are held in pretrial detention...
