R Kelly's crimes are really catching up with him. New charges have been filed against the singer and pedophile, who is on trial in four cases in America, for sexually abusing underage girls. The federal cases against Kelly in Chicago and New York have the most severe penalties, due to how U.S. law is structured.

As it involves the feds, they have more law enforcement and legal tools to gain convictions. Federal prisons are also more severe than state jails, regarding stricter rules and more austere conditions. However, it should be noted that state courts can produce lengthy sentences as well.

I have complained for years on this site that the late singer, Aaliyah, who died in 2001 in a plane crash at age 22, never received justice, regarding the sex crimes Kelly committed against her, while acting as her producer (Why Is R Kelly Still Free). Aaliyah began working with Kelly when she was 12-years-old and he 24. Kelly began secretly having sex with the underage girl, whom he also physically abused (R Kelly Used To Beat Underage Singer Aaliyah).

When Aaliyah was 15-years-old, believing her to be pregnant with his child, Kelly paid for a fake ID, which falsely stated she was 18, in order to illegally wed her in Chicago (18 is the age of consent). MTV News and Vibe Magazine had exposed the scandal in 1994, but the FBI did nothing to bring Kelly to justice at the time, due to his connections.

This month, the federal government hit Kelly with new charges in their sexual abuse case against him. The new charge is concerning Kelly bribing a government employee in Chicago to issue him a fake ID for Aaliyah, one day before he unlawfully wed the 15-year-old, in front of a U.S. judge. This was outright fraud on Kelly's part. It was also insane.

People in Hollywood are routinely outed for lying about their age, in shaving off years from their ages to appear younger to audiences (see: Beyonce  who has been outed as 45-years-old and Jay Z who has been outed as 57-years-old). However, obtaining any form of identification using a fake age and or phony documents is a crime in every U.S. state, which has now gotten Kelly slapped with criminal charges.

R. Kelly Charged With Bribery, Reportedly Stemming From His Marriage To Aaliyah When She Was 15 Years Old

December 6, 2019, 12:59 PM ET - New court documents accuse the singer of bribing a public employee to get a fake I.D. for a "Jane Doe," who's been identified in reports as the teen singer who was briefly married to Kelly. R. Kelly is facing yet another criminal charge, this one reportedly related to his highly controversial marriage to the late singer Aaliyah when she was a teen.

Prosecutors filed a revised indictment in New York on Thursday alleging that Kelly paid a bribe to an unnamed public employee in order to obtain “fraudulent identification document” for a woman listed as “Jane Doe #1,” the Associated Press reports. Court documents do not list Aaliyah, born Aaliyah Dana Haughton, by name but a source familiar with the case confirmed to the Associated Press that Jane Doe refers to Aaliyah. Additionally, the indictment claims that Kelly obtained the false identification on Aug. 30, 1994, one day before he married Aaliyah, who was 15 years old at the time, at a hotel in Chicago.

The 52-year-old singer, born Robert Sylvester Kelly, was 27 at the time of his marriage to Aaliyah; the marriage was later annulled in a matter of months due to her age, and Aaliyah died at the age of 22 in a plane crash in the Bahamas. A lawyer for Kelly, Douglas C. Anton, called the latest charge against his client “an absolute absurdity, backed by more innuendo and baseless accusations,” according to NBC News...
