Rapper and convicted felon, Kodak Black,
real name Dieuson Octave, is in trouble again. The
22-year-old rapper has been sentenced to 3-years and
11-months in a U.S. prison on weapons charges, for
filling out false information on a form in purchasing
guns. He was arrested for the offense in May at the
Rolling Loud music festival.
Kodak tried to purchase six guns on two
different occasions at Lou's Police and Security
Equipment in Hialeah, which is a city in Miami. Kodak
gave the store fraudulent information and left out
pertinent details, such as the fact he is a repeat
offender convicted of a long list of crimes that stretch
back to when he was 15-years-old and detained in the
juvenile system.
One of the weapons Kodak illegally
purchased was used in a shooting in the city of Pompano
Beach, Florida. To make matters worse, while in prison,
Kodak got into a terrible fight with another inmate and
attacked two prison guards who attempted to break up the
scuffle. Kodak was said to be under the influence while
in prison.
Kodak has been arrested many times. He
also has pending sexual assault cases. Prior to those
offenses, he was arrested for armed robbery, drug
possession, battery and the false imprisonment of a
child. Shortly before sentencing this week, Kodak
addressed the court in stating, "I'm sorry for the
actions that led me for where I'm standing. I do take
full responsibility for my mishap."
