Hollywood is a town that craves youth, which does not last. Actors, actresses and singers of an advanced age, are often put out to pasture for allegedly being too old. It is hypocritical considering most of the people that run Hollywood are old. 

Another odd feature of this practice is many younger entertainers are taken advantage of, due to their naiveté. They are young and eager for fame and make terrible compromises on their virtue as a result. At the end of the day, people should be hired and respected for their talents, not due to their age.
