Obama's Future Cabinet

November 25. 2008

UPDATE: a correction - in the story "Obama's Future Cabinet" it should state "$25 billion" is almost what Bush spends in Iraq every month, not every "2 and a half months."

Barack Obama

Internet sites are concerned about some of the selections president-elect Barack Obama is making for his cabinet. Some worry that too many Clinton era people are going to be included.

Obama’s decision making process no doubt takes into consideration the current U.S. financial crisis, coupled with the fact Bill Clinton left surpluses behind when he departed office.

Obama is most likely trying to replicate the previous Democratic president's financial successes, using some of the same folks from Clinton’s cabinet, sans Monica Lewinsky of course.

However, the wildcard in this equation is the financially draining war in Iraq, which the Clinton administration did not have on its balance sheet. It needs to go.

Recently, the U.S. auto industry begged, groveled and beseeched asked Congress for $25 billion dollars to bail them out of their financial woes that threatens millions of jobs nationwide.

I thought about that - $25 billion dollars is the equivalent of what Bush spends every month in Iraq. It’s another reminder of how the current administration is wasting money that could be used elsewhere.
