Obama Dominates Media But McCain Gaining August 7. 2008
Thanks to a string of eye-catching ads, John McCain has been climbing in the polls and for the first time, his YouTube channel views surpassed that of popular Democratic nominee Barack Obama.
Obama still has the most watched YouTube channel, but McCain’s numbers surpassed his for this week. McCain beats Obama on YouTube 7 Aug 2008, 2230 hrs IST,PTI - WASHINGTON: US Republican presidential nominee John McCain is not only making waves by gradually consolidating his position against Democratic rival Barack Obama in opinion polls, he is also making a major headway in YouTube hits. The McCain campaign strategy of hammering away at Obama in funny videos comparing the Illinois Senator to celebrities has pushed the McCain YouTube channel to the sixth most watched sites this week. According to a front page report in The Washington Times , McCain has beaten Obama's channel for seven straight days and 11 of the past 14 days. This is a giant reversal, the media report says pointing out that Obama had been quadrupling McCain's YouTube views and beat him every day since February, citing TubeMogul, which tracks online video viewing… Overall it is being pointed out Obama's YouTube channel still dominates, with 51 million all-time video views. |
