'Black Panther' Star Chadwick Boseman Dies At Age 43 (Video)

"Black Panther" actor, Chadwick Boseman, has died. The South Carolina native passed away this past Friday at age 43, after a 4-year battle with colon cancer. Boseman underwent medical treatment in the form of chemotherapy and surgery, while filming movies and keeping his diagnosis secret from the public. He is survived by his wife Simone Boseman.

Boseman attended Howard University in Washington, D.C.. He tthen followed it up by attending the British American Drama Academy in London, England, via tuition paid for by Academy Award winning actor, Denzel Washington.

Boseman gained fame as the star of the black superhero film "Black Panther" which grossed a massive $1.3 billion at the box office. It wade him a superstar. "Black Panther" became the top grossing film of 2018.

Boseman starred in biopics on the lives of African-Americans Jackie Robinson, Thurgood Marshall and James Brown. Robinson's widow was so impressed with his portray of the late baseball player, she stated it was like seeing Jackie again. Boseman won a Screen Actors Guild Award and an NAACP Image Award.

‘Black Panther’ star Chadwick Boseman dies of cancer at 43

August 29, 2020 - LOS ANGELES (AP) — Chadwick Boseman, who played Black American icons Jackie Robinson and James Brown with searing intensity before inspiring audiences worldwide as the regal Black Panther in Marvel’s blockbuster movie franchise, died Friday of cancer. He was 43.

Boseman died at his home in the Los Angeles area with his wife and family by his side, his publicist Nicki Fioravante told The Associated Press. Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago, his family said in a statement.

“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much,” his family said. “From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more - all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.”...
