Transformers 3 Sales Decline Actually Higher Than Reported July 7. 2011 The sales decline of the "Transformers 3" sequel, "Dark Of The Moon" is actually higher than the 24 percent decrease in opening weekend ticket tallies. "Transformers 3" had a higher ticket price, due to the film being in 3D, which means even less people actually saw the film than its predecessor on two fronts. Had the prices been normal, the sales decline would have been even more apparent, clocking a 50-60 percent decrease in revenues. In short, "Transformers 3" is technically the least successful in the franchise, as more people stayed at home and did not watch it.
