Harvey Weinstein Stripped Of British Honor By The QueenSeptember 24. 2020
Harvey Weinstein and Queen Elizabeth II in 2004
This month, Queen Elizabeth stripped disgraced Hollywood movie producer
and rapist, Harvey Weinstein, of the CBE honor she bestowed upon him in
2004 for his, "Services to the British film industry."
In 2017, Weinstein was accused of sexually harassing, sexually assault
and raping over 100 famous and non-famous women, in a story I broke
first on this site years prior (here
and
here and
here and
here). In 2019,
Weinstein was arrested for rape. This year Weinstein was
convicted of rape and
sentenced to 23-years in prison in New York. Weinstein is currently
serving said sentence in upstate New York. He is also on trail again for rape, but this
time in California, where he could face 30-years in prison.
In 2004, Weinstein stated of the CBE from the Queen, "My
life and my career have been greatly influenced and enriched by
great British film-makers and authors and so I am especially
honoured and humbled to be receiving the CBE."
Harvey Weinstein holding CBE that has now been
rescinded
Last week a notice was posted from the
Queen in the London Gazette which states, "The Queen has
directed that the appointment of Harvey Weinstein to be
an Honorary Commander of the Civil Division of the Most
Excellent Order of the British Empire, dated January 19
2004, shall be cancelled and annulled and that his name
shall be erased from the Register of the said Order."
It is better not to receive such honors
or notable awards in general, only to have them stripped
and rescinded in disgrace, as it becomes a part of
history that is a constant reminder of one's shame. For
years I have written on this site that the Queen has
bestowed honors upon individuals that were not worthy.
There are others in Weinstein's Hollywood cult (Kabbalah)
who will similarly be disgraced in having received said
honor from the Queen, as well as other awards they are
not worthy of holding.
