Wolverine Trailing Behind Predecessor In Sales

Wolverine looks like he wants to stab somebody over the film leak Leaked film “Wolverine” is trailing behind predecessor “X-Men 3” in sales at the box office, though it has been released in an unprecedented number of theaters.

So, unless Fox pulls a fast one, like Warner Bros. and Sony have been known to do in industry circles, in both music and film, to unethically inflate sales numbers, the film has sustained financial damage, as it should not be trailing its predecessor, for such a massive release.
In other Wolverine news, the film was leaked a month ago and the FBI hasn't made a single arrest. For all their talk, they should have nabbed someone in week one, especially considering there are people online that know who performed the leak. The real Wolverine, but this one doesn't sing camp Broadway tunes on the side:
FRIDAY 10:15 AM UPDATE: I'm told that unofficial estimates for Thursday midnight / Friday 12:01 AM screenings at 2,000 theaters have Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine opening to close to $5 million, which is a good start. Besides the widest release in Fox history into 4,099 North American venues, the studio will be showing the prequel on 9,000+ prints in 101 markets internationally (excluding Mexico, India, and Japan. So the summer movie season is on!) |
