Voting For A New Congress

October 17. 2008

President Obama (right) and members of Congress

Soon, you’ll be voting for who you want to represent you in Congress. Choose wisely, as it will determine the direction of the nation. The stock market won’t stabilize, the mortgage industry has gone bust and the cost of living in America is way out of proportion with what citizens and residents make.

While the nation’s economic woes can be repaired with the right minds working diligently to solve the crisis, the problem is the individuals designated to do so simply can’t. They also ignored every warning sign under the sun that the crisis was coming, when they could have cut it off at the pass two years ago.

Let that be a warning sign to you when you go to the polls for the congressional vote. America is currently putting up with its worst performing Congress in history, which means they are getting a free ride off the taxpayers’ backs for running amok. If the nation does not vote out the Congress people that have severely underperformed to historic proportions, America’s economic and social outlook will not improve.

To put it in perspective just think about this. When the current Congress votes on things like watermelon, before they vote on saving homes, jobs, pensions and bank accounts, it says it’s time for them to legally go, as their priorities are complete out of order. You can do that legally and safely by voting them out. Another way to get out of this crisis is through justice. America lacks that right now due to corruption in government, permitting the corporate sector to engage in all sorts of egregious criminal conduct.

If certain people were barred from committing financial and criminal corruption, none of this would have happened. Make no mistake, in tandem with George Bush and his administration via their complacent attitude towards crime, corporate America brought this unprecedented economic crisis on the nation.

When a company like AIG can get bailed out with taxpayer money, then spend it on lavish vacations that cost nearly a million dollars, says not enough is being done to police corporate America and these financial breakdowns will happen again, due to financial misappropriation and gouging.

When select CEOs of major corporations can rob the people of a nation via gouging and run companies into the ground through wantonly bad, unlawful decisions, then walk away with billions of dollars among them, as scores of everyday people lose their jobs, hitting bankruptcy, it says there is no justice.

God would never bless such corruption and injustice; therefore, the U.S. government needs to clean up corporate America and put firmer laws in place. God’s blessing is what made America prosperous and what some in the corporate world have done has dishonored Him via abusing scores of people for financial gain with the government’s consent via their inaction.

If any nation in the world wants to see God’s grace depart from it, let it become overrun with corruption and “injustice” and “mistreat the poor and defenseless” (everyday people) as the Bible says and watch God’s favor depart. Metaphorically in terms of prosperity, it is like watching rich, verdant grass wither and turn yellow.
