The Family Of Murder Victim Breonna Taylor
Settles Lawsuit Against Police For $12,000,000September 21. 2020
Breonna Taylor
The family of murder victim Breonna Taylor,
the 26-year-old African-American EMT, who was shot to death
while she slept in her bed, by careless, negligent police
who did no due diligence, have settled their civil lawsuit
against the police.
The Louisville police and prosecutors involved in
the massive cover up regarding her death are highly corrupt.
Taylor's ex-boyfriend is a drug dealer. In an effort to smear the
name of the deceased young woman who was an upstanding citizen, they
threatened him with excessive jail time and promised him a short
sentence if he would perjure himself in falsely stating she was
involved in drug dealing. He refused and has initiated a lawsuit
against the police for the corruption.

The fact of the matter is police knew they
had the wrong house. They were told the suspect is in
custody, but raided the wrong apartment anyway and opened
fire, killing the innocent EMT in her sleep. They lied to
her family that she was sent to the hospital and to meet her
there, knowing full well her body was sent to the morgue.
This massive and disgraceful corruption within the
Louisville government must not go unpunished by the law.
The city of Louisville have agreed to pay Taylor's
family $12,000,000 in a legal settlement for wrongful death that
also includes "significant" police reform rules. The Louisville
government needs to clean up its act, as their appalling treatment
of Taylor and her family are an absolute disgrace. May Breonna rest
in peace.

These are all the police reforms included in the Breonna
Taylor civil suit settlement
WLKY Updated: 11:21 PM EDT Sep 15, 2020 - A large
settlement was reached between the city of Louisville and the family
of Breonna Taylor in the wrongful death civil suit. Louisville will
pay out $12 million, but the deal also includes "significant" police
reforms. Attorney Lonita Baker said they would not negotiate a civil
settlement unless it came with reforms for LMPD.
Those reforms are meant to address several issues
including police accountability and the fractured relationship
between LMPD and the communities it polices. Some of those reforms
include an incentive programs to get officers living in low-income
neighborhoods within the city and will encourage officers to
volunteer during their shift. Louisville Metro also will hire social
workers to assist officers on certain types of calls...

In the aftermath of the botched police raid in which Ms.
Taylor was killed, the city also agreed to institute changes aimed
at preventing future deaths by officers.
Sept. 15, 2020 - LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After months of
protests that turned Breonna Taylor’s name into a national slogan
against police violence, city officials agreed to pay her family $12
million and institute changes aimed at preventing future deaths by
officers.
The agreement, announced Tuesday, settled a
wrongful-death lawsuit brought by the young woman’s family. As her
mother, her lawyers and leading activists walked into the council
chamber alongside the mayor, there was a momentary show of unity,
after months of nightly, sometimes violent demonstrations that have
left Kentucky’s largest city boarded up. It comes six months after
the death of Ms. Taylor, a 26-year-old emergency room technician, in
a botched drug raid, but before the state’s attorney general has
said whether the officers involved in the shooting would be
criminally charged — a key demand of protesters...
