The Death Of EJ Johnson's Longtime Friend Lyric McHenry Is A Warning Regarding The Dangers Of Drugs November 1. 2018
Lyric McHenry and former First Lady Michelle Obama 26-year-old Lyric McHenry was smart, pretty and outgoing. She grew up in Hollywood and was a close friend of Earvin “Magic” Johnson‘s family. Lyric’s dad, Doug McHenry, is the producer of such films as “New Jack City” “Krush Grove” and “A Thin Line Between Love And Hate.” Lyric was raised in Beverly Hills and graduated from Stanford University with a degree in comparative studies in race and ethnicity. She did volunteer work on the Barack Obama presidential campaign. Lyric moved to New York in 2016 after graduation. She co-produced and appeared on the reality show “EJNYC” starring Magic Johnson’s son, EJ Johnson and its predecessor “The Rich Kids Of Beverly Hills.“
Lyric McHenry and EJ Johnson On August 14, 2018, the day after her birthday, Lyric was found unresponsive on a sidewalk by the expressway in the Bronx, New York, naked from the waist down, with scraped knees and a small pack of cocaine on her person. She was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after. She was 5-months pregnant. Her family did not know she was pregnant and there is speculation that she did not know either. Authorities believe her body had been moved and deposited on the street by two men. This week police announced they had arrested Alexis Mejia-Ramirez, in connection with her death. The arrest was made on October 15, 2018. He and two other men are suspected of dumping Lyric’s body on the street. McHenry was into the Hollywood partying lifestyle that includes alcohol and drugs. When she moved to New York her drug habit continued. A friend tried to get her into rehab, but she stated she was fine.

It is clear she had feelings for him since childhood, as they grew up together. He obviously cared for her as well. However, he recently came out the closet as gay, which is something his father stated he did not want for his son, but reluctantly accepted. Sometimes people deviate from the path God chose for them. You can only pray they return to the fold. Lyric was an intelligent, lovely girl. However, she, like most people, is no match for drugs. It can take the strongest, smartest people and destroy them. Drug addiction creeps up on people. It may start off as something they try at a party and mushroom into a destructive force. People should seek treatment for drug addiction. It could mean the difference between life and death. STORY SOURCE In Lyric McHenry’s Death, a Bronx Man Is Arrested Oct. 31, 2018 - Lyric McHenry, a Stanford University graduate with a budding film career, slipped away from her 26th birthday party at a Manhattan hotel two months ago without saying goodbye. A few hours later, her lifeless body was discovered on a desolate street in the Bronx. She had scraped knees and a glassine envelope of cocaine in her pocket. The police said on Wednesday they had made an arrest in connection with her death, and the medical examiner ruled her death an accident, offering the first public hints about what may have happened to her. Alexis Mejia-Ramirez, 29, of the Bronx, was arrested on Oct. 15 and charged with concealment of a corpse and tampering with evidence. The police did not announce his arrest at the time. He was released Saturday on $1,500 bail. Bronx prosecutors said in court documents that Mr. Mejia-Ramirez and two other unidentified people dumped Ms. McHenry on the sidewalk at Boscobel Place and Undercliff Avenue in the early morning hours of Aug. 14.
