Pretty 19-year-old college student, Miya Marcano, was found dead after a 1-week search in Orlando, Florida. Miya attended Valencia college, while living and working at the Arden Villas Luxury Apartments. Maintenance worker, Armando Manuel Caballero, 27, became obsessed with Miya. He repeatedly asked her out and she said no each time.

I think this is what happened. Miya repeatedly told him no because she didn't find him attractive. He knocked on the door of her apartment trying to get into the unit, while under the delusion in thinking she was going to invite him in for sex. However, she refused to let him into the apartment. When he wouldn't leave and kept trying, she barricaded herself in the apartment (police stated the door was barricaded from the inside).

He pushed past the barricade and got in anyway. He beat and raped her. Fearing she would go to the police, he then killed her. Blood was found on Miya's pillow, which indicates some type of head injury. He smuggled her body out of the apartment, wrapped in her pink blanket he was caught on CCTV video carrying after her disappearance. When authorities began looking into his behavior, he killed himself. However, the search continued for Miya.

On September 29, 2021, I tweeted on the Twitter page of the Orange County Sheriff's office, "Did cadaver dogs turn up a scent in the wooded fields by the apartment complex." In my soul I didn't feel like she was alive. I prayed God would give her family closure, as they were so distraught on the news wondering where she was and what happened. 4-days later on October 2, 2021 authorities found Miya's body in a "wooded area" of the Tymber Skan on the Lake apartment complex, which is close to where she lived at the Arden Villas Luxury Apartments.

This case made me angry. She was young, working and in college. She was making something of her life and for him to take that all from her at age 19, when she'd barely begun to live, is infuriating. My condolences to Miya's family and friends. I'm sorry for your loss.

Medical Examiner confirms body found in wooded area in Orlando is Miya Marcano

Updated 7:18 PM ET, Tue October 5, 2021 -  (CNN)The Orange County Medical Examiner confirmed Tuesday that the body found in a wooded area near the Tymber Skan on the Lake apartment complex in Orlando on Saturday is in fact 19-year-old Miya Marcano.

"A positive identification of a female whose body was recovered in a wooded area on October 2, 2021 has been identified as Miya Marcano," Orange and Osceola Counties Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Joshua Stephany said in a statement Tuesday.

"This case is currently under active law enforcement investigation and any further requests for information, including cause and manner of death, will be deferred to the Orange County Sheriff's Office."  The Orange County Sheriff's Office said Saturday they believed the body was Marcano but deferred official identification to the medical examiner's office. Marcano went missing on September 24.

Marcano had been missing since September 24, when she was last seen at the Arden Villas Luxury Apartments in Orlando where she lived and worked, according to the sheriff's office. 

Members of the Orange County Sheriff's emergency response team found the body around 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Sheriff John Mina said, while searching a wooded area near the Tymber Skan on the Lake apartments, approximately 18 miles west of her home. A purse with her identification was located near the body, he said.

Cell phone records indicated Armando Manuel Caballero, a person of interest in the case who was found dead of an apparent suicide September 27, was "in or near" the apartments for about 20 minutes between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. the evening Marcano was reported missing, according to the sheriff...
