The Delta variant of the coronavirus is sickening many young people, which was not the norm during the original first wave of the virus in America. The Associated Press published an article entitled "Virus claims more young victims as deaths climb yet again."

The article stated, "The U.S. is now averaging about 650 deaths a day, increasing more than 80 percent from two weeks ago and going past the 600 mark on Saturday for the first time in three months. Data on the the age and demographics of victims during the delta surge is still limited, but hospitals in virus hotspots say they are clearly seeing more admissions and deaths among people under the age of 65."

Many people under age 35 are dying from the coronavirus. People who once thought they were exempt are finding out they are susceptible. It has to do with the severity of the Delta variant and the state of the person's immune system, regarding survival rates.

Some people have underlying health problems they do not even know about, such as genetic conditions or a hole in the heart they were born with, and the coronavirus then becomes an opportunistic infection that turns deadly.

Don't risk it with this virus. Don't test your immune system. By all means, make your immune system as strong as possible with the right foods (green tea, fruits and vegetables high in vitamin C, and a splash of real lemon juice in warm or hot water daily), exercise (20 minutes of cardio at least 3 times per week) and proper rest on a daily basis (at least 8-hours sleep per day) and avoiding stress. Watch comedies daily that put you in a good mood. Laughter releases endorphins that are beneficial to the body (so does exercise).

I'm asking you once again to please wear proper masks, engage in social distancing and regular hand sanitization practices. You can stay safe during this pandemic and outlive it. Please be smart about this. Don't underestimate this virus. Stay safe and protect your families as well, especially the youngest members, such as children, who need proper guidance from you (and masks).
