South Carolina Man Paid To Have His Black Neighbor Murdered Via Hanging With Burning Cross On His Lawn May 10. 2018
Brandon Cory Lecroy White supremacist, Brandon Cory Lecroy, of South Carolina, paid a man $500 to kill his black neighbor via "hanging from a tree" and place a "flaming cross" in his yard. A burning cross is a symbol used by white supremacists, especially during the civil rights era, to convey a racist message, with the intent of terrifying and terrorizing black people. It is also sacrilegious to set a cross on fire. Lecroy is a member of a white supremacist group. Through the white supremacist group he belongs to, Lecroy was put into contact with a man he was told would kill his neighbor for money. Lecroy asked a man to commit the crime in exchange for cash. Lecroy even told the man the best time to commit the crime and gave him photos of his neighbor whom he wanted killed. Lecroy also revealed he would steal his neighbor's house after the murder was completed. However, the man he offered the money to in the murder scheme is a sheriff's deputy. Lecroy has been arrested and charged with "soliciting a crime of violence." He is currently in federal prison awaiting trial. If convicted, Lecroy faces 10-years in prison and a $250,000 fine. And they say racism is dead.
