Social Networking Threatening A Boycott Of Netflix Over $50,000,000 Deal With Barack Obama And Michelle Obama

Former U.S. President, Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, have been given a $50,000,000 Netflix deal to produce movies and television series for the streaming service. Many on social networking are threatening to cancel their subscriptions to Netflix over the Obama deal.

It is being reported that Netflix chief of content, Ted Sarandos, gave the Obamas’ the deal. Sarandos was a financial donor to the Obamas, donating and bundling $500,000. In exchange for the donation and bundling, Obama made Sarandos’ wife, Nicole Avant, an ambassador to the Bahamas (2009 - 2011). The Netflix deal is clearly also a part of the bundle.

The Netflix deal is odd, as neither Obama knows anything about filmmaking. In fact, they spent their time in office promoting men like Harvey Weinstein, among others, who are Hollywood criminals. Another fact to consider is the film “Southside With You” which was about the Obamas and produced by singer John Legend, completely flopped at the box office.

The foregoing facts, coupled with the social networking boycott, makes this Netflix and Obama deal a very risky one, as the shareholders are going to get burned via financial losses. It wasn't a good idea. I will be monitoring this story as it unfolds.
