R Kelly's Team Allowed Him To Do An
Ill-Advised Interview With CBS News Which Could Be Used Against
Him In Criminal Court (Video)
March 6. 2019
Pedophilic 52-year-old singer, R Kelly, who was recently
indicted on sweeping sexual abuse charges against underage
girls, did an interview with CBS News host Gayle King, which is
scheduled to air this morning in America at 7:00AM (eastern
standard time). The preview has already gotten R Kelly into
trouble, as he did not deny sexually abusing underage girls. He
danced around the issue and stated he beat the case in the past
(2009).
In the interview Kelly also complained of "double jeopardy"
which under U.S. law bars prosecutors from trying a person for
the same crime. However, R Kelly has misapplied the law. The
government can prosecute a person for committing the same crime,
if the misconduct is perpetrated against a new victim.
R Kelly being restrained while screaming at Gayle King. It's
clear R Kelly's team can't control him. The judge ordered him to
stay away from underage girls as a part of the terms of his
bail, but within hours of his release, he went straight to
McDonalds and began hugging and taking photos with underage
girls, at a place he picked up many of his victims.
If there is a new victim of crime, in acts perpetrated by the
same offender, the law has provisions that permit prosecutors to
file a new case. For example, "double jeopardy" would be trying
a person twice for the same murder of a specific person, after
they were found not guilty and all legal processes in the matter
were exhausted.
From a legal perspective the interview was a terrible idea. R
Kelly incriminated himself. From a public relations standpoint
the interview is a disaster. R Kelly looks belligerent, hateful
and insane. In a still from the CBS News interview, R Kelly
looks like he wants to attack Gayle King, but had to be
restrained.
Gayle King is unimpressed with R Kelly
Upon proper inspection, the photo reveals there is someone
standing behind R Kelly holding him back, while he rages at King
and invades her personal space. That does not look good. It came
across as misogynistic and abusive. People online are not amused
by this. That is terrible PR. The interview did not sway the
public to his point of view. It left people on social networking
with an even worse impression of him.
R Kelly is behaving like a man whose crimes have come back to
haunt him and in a manner that will become his undoing. People
and things R Kelly relied on to get him out of trouble before
are no longer available to him. He is terrified of the prospect
of a level playing field in court, with his celebrity having
turned sour and the world against him.
