Prison Paris

Stars Are Blind Busted

May 5. 2007

A judge sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail violating her probation stemming from a drunk driving arrest in September 2006.

During the May 4, 2007 hearing it was revealed that Paris was cited three times for driving on a suspended license, even driving around with the last citation she received, which she signed.

Paris was wailing in court like he sentenced her to the Hanoi Hilton. It could have been far worse. The prosecutor and then the Judge could have imposed up to a year in jail. You need to be grateful they didn’t.

No one is above the law. Some celebrities act like the law doesn’t apply to them.

This judge should be commended for upholding the law of the land. All but one of dozens of major blogs believe Paris deserves jail time.

The public overwhelmingly posted their approval online that she has actually been given jail time as opposed to slaps on the wrist that clearly weren’t working.

It seems like every week there is a new celebrity drunk driving arrest. This is dangerous conduct, as drunk drivers have killed thousands of people all over the world.

Recently, actor Lane Garrison of the copyright infringing show Prison Break was drunk behind the wheel of a car full of underage teens who were drinking as well, and one of the minors died when an inebriated Garrison slammed his car into a tree in Beverly Hills.

Celebrities have no excuse for this. They have the means more than non-celebrities to pay for a driver or a cab when they are inebriated.

There have been numerous celebrity drunk driving arrests this year. Good to see the L.A. police and court system clamping down on this kind of reckless behavior endangering the public.

And Paris, to borrow a line from the TV show the Golden Girls, when Rose got Dorothy arrested because her husband was a terrible landlord of a building they co-owned “While you’re in prison don’t spend your days mad at me. Learn a trade.”

Seriously, the judge did you a favor with his ruling. It will give you time to dry out from the alcohol and drugs you refuse to give up.
