Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi

News reports indicate U.S. president Joe Biden is at odds with house speaker, Nancy Pelosi. Biden revealed he wants to move forward and an impeachment trial of former president Donald Trump is not something he is pushing.

However, Pelosi threw a tantrum today at Biden's stance and stated, "But make no mistake about it. There will be a trial, there will be votes up or down on whether to convict the president." She also stated of Trump, "He roused the troops, he urged them on to fight like hell, he sent them on their way to the Capitol, he called upon lawlessness, he showed a path to the Capitol, and the lawlessness took place."

Pelosi also kept invoking the Constitution. However, she is in violation of it. One of Trump's attorneys, Alan Dershowitz, stated the former president cannot be impeached, as he has already left office. Dershowitz cited Article I Section 3 which states, "Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law."

This indicates the individual must be in office to be constitutionally impeached via the Senate trial. Dan Abrams' website Law and Crime stated, "Since a former office holder cannot be removed, that person also cannot be disqualified from office." Dershowitz and Abrams are attorneys. Pelosi is not. They are explaining the law. She is explaining her feelings.

Pelosi is misusing the constitution in trying to block Trump from running for president in 2024, in a bid to help a member of her party, democrat Biden, get reelected. However, Trump still has his sights on running again, has a political movement that has not subsided and is also mentoring his adult children to run for office. They are regrouping.
