Police Slam 87-Year-Old Woman On The Ground Excessive Force August 7. 2009
A police woman inappropriately slammed an 87-year-old woman on the ground in a parking lot, creating a terrible head injury, with blood pouring from it. The disoriented, elderly woman, who bears the signs of dementia
and separately walks with a cane, was slowly wandering in the
parking lot, with a small knife in her hand. When the police woman
screamed at her to drop the knife,
The police woman then abruptly twisted her arm and slammed her to the ground, creating the terrible head wound. Her frantic daughter rushed to her side and began yelling in horror. At the police academy, they should play this footage during the "what not to do" session, as this violent incident was completely unnecessary and constitutes excessive force. The policewoman should be sued and face disciplinary action. She exhibited very poor judgment in accosting an 87-year-old lady that walks with a cane, in such a violent manner. Judging by the angle the woman hit the concrete and the amount of blood shed, she most likely created some form of brain trauma in the elderly lady that may not be apparent at first. |
