NFL Football Player Phillip Adams Killed Five People Including Two Young Children And Then Himself

Authorities is Rock Hill, South Carolina, discovered a grisly and heartbreaking crime scene while responding to an emergency call concerning former NFL football player, Phillip Adams. The 32-year-old athlete played for the San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons.

Yesterday, police discovered that Adams shot and killed his medical provider, Dr. Robert Lesslie, 70, his wife, Barbara Lesslie, 69, and their young grandchildren Adah Lesslie, 9, and Noah Lesslie, 5. 38-year-old, James Lewis, who worked at the doctor's property, was also found shot to death on the grounds.

A manhunt ensued and Adams was found dead hours later at his home, via a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Adams' mother was in the property when he shot himself. However, she was left unharmed.

Dr. Lesslie was treating Adams for mental illness that sprang from traumatic brain injuries, stemming from his time as a professional football player. The brain injuries are known as Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). Adams' dad Alonzo stated, "I think football messed him up."

Published 3 hours ago - COLUMBIA, S.C. - The gunman who killed five people including a prominent doctor in South Carolina was former NFL pro Phillip Adams, who killed himself early Thursday, according to a source who was briefed on the investigation.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak publicly, said Adams’ parents live near the doctor’s home in Rock Hill, and that he had been treated by the doctor. The source said Phillips killed himself after midnight with a .45 caliber weapon.

A gunman killed five people including a prominent doctor and his grandchildren in South Carolina, prompting an hourslong search that led to a suspect in a nearby home, the York County Sheriff’s Office said.

The York County coroner’s office said Dr. Robert Lesslie, 70, and his wife, Barbara Lesslie, 69, were pronounced dead at the scene along with grandchildren Adah Lesslie, 9, and Noah Lesslie, 5...
