‘Murphy Brown’ Reboot Draws Poor Ratings For CBS September 28. 2018
Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton made an appearance on the reboot of "Murphy Brown" whining and moping about losing the election The reboot of the 1989 sitcom ‘Murphy Brown’ starring Candice Bergen, has failed to draw winning viewing numbers for the CBS network. In fact, it was the lowest rated comedy last night. Hollywood was hoping to use the reboot to influence the upcoming U.S. midterm elections and the 2020 presidential race. This confirms what I stated on Twitter in the days leading up to the new premier of “Murphy Brown” regarding the show being a pale comparison of the original. In the Judiciary Report article on the subject last night, I laid out several of the reasons I did not think the show would do well and it did not, confirming my suspicions. The numbers released today for the show were not good. I found some of it funny, but more or less it was a miss. They did not bring the show back correctly.
The new "Murphy Brown" There’s news of new reboots in the pipeline, such as “The Jeffersons” “Maude” and “the Golden Girls.” Those shows were so well done, featuring casts that have largely since passed away. Reprising such roles will be extremely difficult, considering the caliber of actors who played them and so distinctly it would be hard to match or surpass. Old Hollywood was way better. The writers, producers and actors were very good at what they did in entertainment. However, to each his own. Hollywood has run out of ideas, as it is now being run by crazy cultists who have no talent. Hence all the copyright infringement and now the many reboots that are not being received well by audiences. That’s a recipe for failure and disaster. Gone are the days when Hollywood used to hire smart, creative, talented people who know what they are doing. The industry is now in its insane “Illuminati” era and mark my words, they are going to destroy Hollywood.
My tweets on Twitter in the days leading up to the premier last night Side bar: As stated last night, the show took potshots at President Trump, putting on a Twitter feud within the program that is within a program. I stated they were hoping would turn into a Twitter war with the president. However, he didn't even bother to respond on Twitter. The newsroom sitcom starring Candice Bergen premiered to considerably softer numbers than similarly hyped yesteryear sitcom revivals in recent seasons — such as NBC’s Will & Grace and ABC’s Roseanne. The heavily buzzed 9:30 p.m. premiere (which included a surprise Hillary Clinton cameo) was watched by 7.4 million viewers and had a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 — the softest of the network’s two-hour comedy block.
