Flight After Being Harassed By The Drunk And Unruly

A drunk passenger harassed former
heavy weight boxing champion Mike Tyson during a
flight from San Francisco, California to Fort
Lauderdale, Florida. Tyson had posed for selfies
with the man and others, then everyone took their
seats. However, a heavily edited video (even,
unmatched and abrupt frame changes indicate the
passenger cut out what he did that angered Tyson)
released to the public by the passenger revealed he
began harassing Tyson while his friend filmed it.
The passenger sat behind Tyson and
began touching him from the seat located behind the
boxer. Tyson told the man to leave him alone.
However, the passenger refused. He should have
respected his wishes and left him alone. According
to news reports the passenger threw a water bottle
at the boxer, which is assault.
Tyson then became angry and began
punching the man in the face. He sustained minor
injuries that did not require hospitalization.
Police apprehended then released the passenger and
his friend for harassing Tyson. The offending
passenger refused to cooperate with police.
When I'm on a flight I just want to
read, watch a movie or rest. I don't want to be
harassed. No one does. Most people just
want some peace and a stress free flight. The
passenger should have respected Tyson's wishes
regarding being left alone.
In his defense, the passenger later
claimed he was drunk. However, it is a federal crime
to be intoxicated and disruptive on an airplane in
America. He broke the law. It is also a crime throwing a water bottle
at others (assault).
You have to be responsible for yourself
and follow all aviation and federal laws. Too many
unnecessary problems are happening on planes in
recent times because people are harassing other
passengers (as was done to Tyson) or attacking
flight crew. This must stop.
As I have maintained on this site
for years, people need to learn to leave others
alone. We live in difficult times. People just want
to go about their business and get there without
stress. Learn to respect other people's personal
space. You don't know what is going on with others.
Maybe the person doesn't feel well or received bad
news. Don't go around harassing others. Let people
be.

6:10 PM ET - Mike Tyson was involved
in a physical altercation on an airplane Wednesday
night, with an edited video obtained by TMZ Sports
showing the Hall of Famer striking a passenger
seated behind him.
A spokesperson for the San Francisco
Police Department told ESPN on Thursday that at
approximately 10:06 p.m. local time "officers were
dispatched to a physical altercation onboard an
airplane" at San Francisco International Airport.
The department declined to identify those involved,
saying it doesn't release the names of detained
individuals.
Police did say two subjects were
apprehended before later being released. One person
was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening
injuries. "That subject provided minimal details of
the incident and refused to cooperate further with
the police investigation," the officer said...
