Mariah Carey Has A Weave Malfunction While On Vacation

Pop singer Mariah Carey is coming off a rough 2018 that saw her announce against her wishes that she is bipolar, after being blackmailed by her unethical manager Stella Bulochnikov. Then, Carey fired Bulochnikov and hired an even worse manager, rapper Jay Z. I stated she should not sign with Jay Z as he does not know what he's doing. Then, he ended up damaging her career even more, as I predicted he would, with the release of the album “Caution” which flopped. Then, Carey's Christmas tour flopped, due to the "Caution" album having bombed.

Carey then launched into 2019 looking like "a bale of hay shot out of a cannon" as shown in paparazzi photos of her on vacation. As written previously on the site, Carey’s hair is experiencing significant thinning. While age can play a factor, there are many 49-year-olds Carey's age with thick, long, luxurious hair.

However, Carey, who has very curly hair via tight tendrils, has been having her hair blowdried completely straight and flat ironed even straighter every few days for decades, which causes tremendous damage to the hair. The constant heat and pulling damages hair. As a consequence, Carey’s hair has thinned right out.

This past weekend Carey went on vacation with her 7-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, as well as boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka, 35, to celebrate the New Year. Carey went into the ocean and it caused a weave malfunction. As someone with curly hair I can attest, when you blowdry it straight, then go into water, it will curl right back up. Humidity will also make it go curly after blowdrying it straight.

When Carey went into the water, she barely got wet in the boat, but her hair curled right up (water and humidity). It exposed the fact Carey, who once had long, thick tresses, is now suffering from a receding hairline and hair thinning. Carey’s hair is now short, very thin and darker, while her long, blonde hair extensions remained straight and frizz free.

Mariah Carey would benefit from some hair and skin treatments

As a person who was born with red hair (Carey was born with blonde hair) I can attest, people who naturally have light colored hair will see it begin to get darker in one's teens. Carey’s hair is at the stage it is black. There's nothing wrong with that. However, I think Carey looks better with curly hair.

Curly hair looks more ethnic, which is something Columbia Records/Sony Music, under Carey's former husband, Tommy Mottola, tried to hide, as he attempted to conceal her race from the public in the early years of her career. However, when you are mixed, curly hair is a part of your heritage and looks. I think all hair types look great and there is nothing wrong with being who you are as a person.

I remember singer Whitney Houston once said she wears wigs because she’s not going to end up baldheaded from being an entertainer, due to all the primping and preening that comes with the territory. Proper haircare is important. Sometimes the best thing you can do for your hair is give it a break from the heat (blow dryers, curling irons) and harsh gels, wear it natural and let it grow.

Don't clog up the scalp/follicles by using too many styling products and be careful not to get face creams and make up on the hairline. Let the scalp breathe. Get a good shampoo and conditioner. Most of all, remember to eat foods like spinach, which provide many good vitamins.

Carey needs to be kinder to her hair and get treatments on a regular basis to help bring her locks back. There's nothing wrong with wearing it curly more often. Give that hair a rest.
