Judge That
May 7. 2007
Judge Michael T. Sauer is being applauded all over the country for sentencing Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail for violating her probation on DUI three times. Not once or twice, but three times.
It was reported today that he was given a standing ovation at his local church. All across the internet he is being commended for his ruling. Numerous polls approve of his decision by very big margins (each in the high 90 percent range).
Paris in the meantime is bemoaning her situation, being a spoiled brat and lying on top of it, "I told the truth yesterday. I feel that I was treated unfairly. It was both cruel and unwarranted. I don't deserve this." Cops telling you three times on separate occasions to stop driving on a suspended license is "cruel and unwarranted" and somehow your publicist's fault?
Speaking of that, Paris fired the poor man, publicist Eliot Mintz, who did his best to help her on numerous occasions. On many web sites, people expressed their sympathy for him and stated they do not believe Paris. People wrote they believe he took the fall for her. It certainly appears that way.
Paris embarrassingly bragged about herself and insulted the police a week before her court date that landed her with a jail sentence:
Paris' mother, Kathy, who was very poor and married into the wealthy Hilton family, is lamenting "I can't believe all the money we spent on this" in trying to get their jail bound daughter off the charges. She further exclaimed, " I agree it is a waste of taxpayer money... that your daughter should make restitution for, as she was given chances to desist breaking the law, but in true celebrity fashion, brushed the law aside as some mere footnote.
She provided a problem for authorities in L.A. People were watching her flagrant conduct on a regular basis via paparazzi pics and video. They began to openly question in articles, magazines, blogs and on message boards, how she was able to get away with things they themselves would have been locked up for. They gave her many chances and she blew it. Another thing, I don't know, maybe my thinking is a little old fashioned and stuck in the old world view of what is money, but she's not old money. Truthfully, neither is the Hilton family. At least not according to British and European standards.
There is nothing wrong with that, but for she and her daughter to behave the snobby way they do, disparaging the poor and working class, demeaningly attempting to correct people's grammar and taste, when they are one generation removed from poverty, is really rich, pardon the pun. Paris is often heard calling people "poor" in a derisive manner, when she did nothing toward earning her family's fortune. Old money is wealth traveling through a family for many generations, not one, two or three. And even on old money, snobbery and disdain for the poor or those with less is repugnant. They betray bad breeding and a gross lack of class. The truly rich always understood the importance of being gracious to the poor and less fortunate.
Paris shows no humility, responsibility or social conscience of any kind. Her misdeeds have negatively affected many. However, with her, every mess up is allegedly someone else's fault. She shows no genuine
compassion for the poor or sick. She makes concerted efforts to disparage
people's looks and background, while swinging off club banquets and dancing on
tables, whilst showing her private parts to the world. Now that's (Photos courtesy of Film Magic, FlyOnNet and the AP) |
