Judge Tells Diddy He Did Not Prove Government Leaked Cassie Video To Prejudice The Case Against Him And Dismisses His Motion

December 21. 2024

This is a follow up to the October 28, 2024 article "Judge Presiding Over Diddy's Sex Trafficking Case Denies His Request For A Gag Order Against The Government." In the article I stated, "How does Diddy know that the government leaked the tape of him beating Cassie that appeared on CNN. What if someone from hotel security had made a copy of the CCTV footage before it was bought by Diddy, then sold it to CNN, who have kept their sources confidential. Newsgathering agencies, journalists and bloggers are permitted under the law to keep sources confidential."

I also stated in the article, "How can Diddy state with certainty who leaked the video. After all, look at TMZ; they approach employees of condominiums, hotels and hospitals, among others, and offer money for CCTV footage and records (the latter is not legal when a hospital employee is bribed, as TMZ has done before). Remember that beautiful footage of Solange Knowles karate kicking camel Jay Z for cheating on her sister Beyonce. TMZ bought the CCTV footage from security and published it for ratings."

The prosecutor stated to the Court, "Indeed, at the time of CNN’s publication, the Government did not possess any video of the March 2016 incident." This week Judge Arun Subramanian denied Diddy's request concerning ruling the government leaked the Cassie tape to CNN to make him look bad. Judge Subramanian ruled, "Combs has not carried his burden to show that the government leaked [the video] to CNN."

Diddy would have needed to present testimony from a CNN, government or hotel employee stating the video was leaked by them. Alternatively, he would have needed to subpoena CNN and get them in a deposition admitting the government leaked the tape to them. He was not able to do any of these things.

Federal judge rejects Diddy’s accusation that government leaked video of 2016 assault on Cassie

Dec 17, 2024 - This week, a federal judge re-emphasized that the court of public opinion has no impact on Sean “Diddy” Combs’ upcoming federal trial. On Monday, Judge Arun Subramanian issued a ruling on the music mogul’s request for an evidentiary hearing to investigate his claims that the government has leaked information about his case, including the infamous video of Combs physically assaulting his former partner Cassie Ventura in 2016...

The “Bad Boys” founder’s defense alleged that DHS carried out a seven-month campaign to discredit Combs in order to “infringe upon” his “right to a fair trial” by “disclosing confidential grand jury information.” Though Subramanian admits that Combs’ arguments were “convincing,” he says, “Combs has not carried his burden to show that the government leaked [the video] to CNN.” Federal prosecutors denied the star’s claims...
