Judge Grants Clearance For Ashley Judd Lawsuit To Proceed Against Rapist Harvey Weinstein

Judge Philip S. Gutierrez has given clearance to the sexual harassment and blacklisting lawsuit filed by actress, Ashley Judd, against disgraced Hollywood movie producer, Harvey Weinstein, to proceed. The case will go to trial in civil court, providing Weinstein does not settle the lawsuit.

The public is so against Weinstein, who is on trial in criminal court for raping women in a separate legal matter, that his chances of winning the Judd lawsuit are currently next to none. There is too much evidence against Weinstein, regarding blacklisting actresses who rebuffed his sexual advances, for him to win. There is also a significant amount of public contempt for Weinstein, which means a jury will not view him sympathetically.

Judd was sexually harassed by Weinstein, who exposed himself to her during a business meeting in a hotel suite. Hollywood business meetings are often conducted over lunch or in hotel suites, with the latter posing a severe risk to women and men, due to rapists and sexual harassers in the entertainment industry.

Judd declined his sexual advances and Weinstein had her blacklisted in Hollywood (much like he did to actress Mira Sorvino). In 2017 movie directors, Sir Peter Jackson and Terry Zwigoff, came forward in separate incidents, revealing Weinstein ordered that Judd and Sorvino be blacklisted in the entertainment industry, resulting in the actresses losing big movie roles and millions of dollars.

The same was done to other actresses, such as Rosanna Arquette, among others. It was due to the fact they wouldn’t have sex with unattractive Weinstein, refusing to give in to his casting couch sexual demands. In fact, many women fled hotel room meetings, due to Weinstein sexually propositioning him.

For the past 5-years I have warned on this site about how sexually depraved and financially dishonest Weinstein is as a person (here and here and here and here). The man is evil. Yet had the nerve to call himself "god." Then Weinstein fell and was arrested. The New York Times and New Yorker magazine exposed him in very damaging articles that brought an end to his reign of terror in Hollywood. It also gave birth to the MeToo movement.

Now Weinstein is being sued left, right and center over his unlawful, cruel behavior. Good! He deserves it. His conduct is so unnecessary. There are women who would have willingly dated him for money and because he is (well, was) a movie producer. However he branded himself "god." He deemed he was to have any woman he wanted, whether they were willing or not. Many who were unwilling were sexually assaulted and raped. There is no justification for his behavior. Weinstein needs to pay full financial restitution to each victim and serve time in prison to pay his debt to society.
